The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania, Mr. Radu Berceanu, today visited the constructed part of the Adjoining Infrastructure on the Romanian territory under the project “Danube bridge Vidin-Calafat”. He visited the site, constructed by FCC Construccion on the Romanian bank – Abutment 3 of the railway-road transport installation.
“Try to finish the Project in time!” appealed Radu Berceanu to the Spanish and Romanian constructors of Danube bridge 2. And he continued: “The beginning of each Project is difficult and slow. But if you keep to the current rhythm of construction to October – November this year and the spring of next year, it is possible to observe the term for completion of the Adjoining Infrastructure on the Romanian side – June 2011.”
Mr. Radu Berceanu was met by the Manager of the Project “Danube bridge Vidin-Calafat” – eng. Alberto Vergara who showed to him the construction site where Abutment 3 is being erected – the first pile has already been completed. The construction of the other two Abutments on the Bulgarian territory is at a more advanced stage, as well as the 12 piers of the bridge in the Danube river.
